Depression & anxiety

“Theres comes a time when i no longer care if there’s a light at the end of the tunnel or not.

I am just sick of the tunnel.”

Depression is a real mental illness. Those who suffer with this horrible condtion simply cannot decide to suddenly stop feeling depressed.
Unlike everyday sadness or worries, depression feels all- consuming and hopeless.
Friends and loved ones of people suffering with depression often get frustrated and dont’ fully understand why a person can’t just snap out of it.
If left untreated, depression can seriously affect the sufferers quality of lfe, personel relationships, work , because it can be so serious, finding effective treatment fo anxiety and depression is essential.
So it is most important to seek help from a qualifed professional skilled in therapy, treatment programs and talking with a physician is the best course of action.
The early depression is treated the better.
If depression and anxiety are allowed to go untreated for long periods of time, the longer it will take to treat the condtion.
When i suffered with depression in the past, when i was suffering with serious health issues, i found having regular Reiki healing sessions really helped me make a full recovery from a really low point in my life.
Reiki can be really benefical to people suffering with anxiety, depression. in a multiple of ways.

Depression is often accompanied by anxiety, as a reiki treatment is so relaxing, it will help reduce the anxious feeling and as a result the person’s depression may be reduced as well.

When people are depressed, they may feel they are not in control of their own lives. So by participating in a Reiki healing, they are doing something proactive. therefore taking back that feeling of control.

People suffering with depression may feel isolated and a common sympton of depression
involves withdrawing from family and friends, feeling disconnected from others.
So one if the great benefits during a healing is allowing to let the client connect with a compassionite, caring Practioner, and this can really help improve the clients health.

Reiki is a beautiful healing and to be honest my
favourite to give and receive.
I make sure to have a Reiki healing once a month to help keep me in tip top shape both mentally and physically.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

” Never – just -at -the-wrist-syndrome”.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a really progressively painful condtion that is felt in the arm, wrist and hand. Numbness and tingling sensations are usually felt in thumb and in the 3 first fingers in the hand. ( not in the little finger). This horrible condtion can overtime become so intense that it can effect overall strength in the fingers and hand, even leading to loss of grip.
Simple everyday tasks eg buttoning a shirt,
tying a shoe lace, holding a pen can become almost impossible to do.
(CTS) is most commonly caused by compression of the median nerve as it passes into a narrow tunnel in the wrist, this compression may be caused by tautness in the
wrist flexors due to over development of muscles and tendons that press on the nerve.
So it is most important when treating this condtion that forearm, wrist tension and adhesions are removed so as to help increase space in the area.
While CTS is most commonly caused by issues in the wrist and forearm, it is can also be caused by nerve compression in the elbow, upper forearm and even in the neck and shoulder.( The median nerve in the wrist extends from the Brachial nerve ( neck shoulder) down the arm, passing through the elbow into the wrist. So its really important to be a good healing detective and to find the source of the pain and work on helping to reduce it at the source.
It is really important to have Carpal tunnel syndrome treated in its early stages, if the condtion is allowed to become chronic it can lead to permanent damage to the median nerve, causing constant numbness in the fingers and even a loss of strength in the hand.
There is no need to continue suffering with this
horrible condtion, have it treated.

Stress- anxiety – depression

” Of all our troubles, great and small , the greatest are the one’s that don’t happen at all “.

Given the times we are living in, stress has become an endemic part of our lives.
We all feel stressed from time to time. Stress is a normal psychological and physical response to the day to day demands of life.
Stress causes our body’s defense system, known as ” flight or fight ” to kick in.
The nervous system releases a flood of stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol that help us deal with different everyday situations.
Too much stress however is a different issue.
Frequent stress can cause the body to be in a heightened state of stress most of the time which can lead to a suppressed immune system that can cause serious illness eg,
heart condtions, diabetes, IBS, IBD.
Dealing with too much stress on a daily basis can lead to anxiety, even leading to depression.
Depression is a disorder that can greatly effect everything we do in our daily lives.
So it is most important to have chronic stress/ anxiety reduced before it eventually leads to depression.
Thankfully, there are several ways to help reduce stress and anxiety, eg daily exercise, yoga and meditation.
Two highly effective complementary therapies used to help reduce stress/ anxiety are Reflexology and Reiki.
Reflexology helps the body reach a state of deep relaxation which has the capacity to diminish the effects of stress.
Reiki is highly effective in helping to reduce tension in the body and also releases mental and emotional stress.
I love to receive both Reflexology and Reiki and i do so on a regular basis, they are wonderful therapies and help keep the body and mind in a good healthy state.
